    Korean taro stem is dried taro stem from Gurye and Gokseong. It was blanched by soaking it in salt water or used water from washing rice to remove its unique acrid taste in blanching.     There are newly harvested sweet potato vines which are immediately blanched by harvesting and peeling it from April to November in vinyl greenhouse or the bare ground and dried sweet potato vines that are blanched by harvesting, boiling, and drying it on September and October. Blanched sweet potato vines are low in calories and very rich in dietary fiber, potassium, and calcium. They are good to eat them as soup or stir-frying them in oil.

    Blanched cirsium is from Gangwondo, very rich in carbohydrate, fiber, minerals, and vitamin, and contains bioactive substances. The shape of cisium is similar with that of wild aster, but is softer and smoother than that. It is very much used in cirsium rice because chewing taste is good.

    Blanched siler divaricata’s main area of production si Geumodo Island, Yeosu. It has a strong fragrance and the taste is similar with that of cirsium.
